Not What I Was Hoping

I wanted to sleep in this morning but the dogs were not interested so I got up and got on with my day. At 11 I headed to Petsmart and spent the next 4 hours hoping some dogs would get adopted but it didn't work out today. When I got home I worked on securing the metal mesh around the dog run until it got too dark to see. If I had known no one was going to get adopted I could have spent that time fixing the dog run instead. Too bad I can't see in to the future.

Another disappointing thing today was that my tenant wasn't able to move out today because she got sick and now she won't be leaving until next Saturday. Financially it doesn't matter because she will pay for another week but I was very disappointed. I was looking forward to getting my house back and moving on to the next tenant. I had planned to take my trash and recycling to my house as well as take a nice hot bath while my laundry is washing itself (no water hauling needed!). I guess I will have to be patient.

My tenant said it is fine if I bring a flooring guy over to give me recommendations and take measurements. At least I can start preparing for that. I'll probably do that on Wednesday. I did more reading on laminate flooring and I am starting to like the idea for the living room. I'm thinking about a high grade vinyl tile for the kitchen. I really liked the sheet vinyl in the kitchen but it got stained and ripped and the patch that we put in looked bad. Vinyl tiles are easier to replace and maybe I can do it some of it myself. I won't know for sure until I go there and look at it. So many decisions!

Also look at the Allure flooring, they are vinyl planks that are free floating like laminate. We put it in our home 2 yrs ago and I LOVE it, I have 3 boys who are constantly spilling things, and nothing goes through it. In our old house we had tile and I hated cleaning grout.

You need someone who wants to do a bit of charity work to take your dogs to adoption events for you. I don't suppose you could maybe advertise for help at the rescue centre? People like me, with not much room for the actual dogs, would probably be happy to do an odd few hours.

Kim, thanks for that tip. I didn't know about that product. I looked it up today and it looks perfect for the kitchen and bath. Next step, go see it in person.

Lizzie, that is a good idea. I should ask. I know other people do it but they live in town. I live so far out, 40 minutes away, but who knows, maybe someone would do it.
