Catching Up On Sleep

We aren't getting a lot of rain this Summer like I thought we would but we have gotten enough to make everything green. This time of year makes me want to get outside and prune everything except that it is so hot and humid and the bugs are driving me crazy.

I got up early to feed the dogs this morning and then I went back to bed. Many of the dogs have a cold right now so they were all sleepy and we all slept until noon when the phone rang. I couldn't believe that I slept half of the day away but it sure was nice.

After that I ate lunch and cleaned and gathered up my dogs that were going to the vet and we headed in to town. 3 hours later I was back for more cleaning and dinner. Of course I am not tired now so I am still up watching Hulu and it is after 11.

I decided not to go look at houses tomorrow. I didn't see any that had great backyards. I also remembered that property taxes will be due soon so I have to be sure I have enough in my account since I just spent too much on my tooth. Now I have to pay my rental house property by myself so I had better be able to do it. I can't believe it is August already. Where does the time go?

Hi Daizy
Does the downgrading of the US credit status impact on your mortgage options? I am hoping you haven't missed the boat

Daizy, now I "know" two people who are actively looking for new places to live. My best friend has been apartment hunting for a few weeks, checking out apartments in area co-op residences to live. He was renting before and had roommates but after 20 years he has grown weary of that. Like you, he is getting close to buying a place.

Lizzie, your comment was the first thing I read this morning. I headed over to CNN news after that but couldn't see that it would affect me yet. It might raise mortgage rates.

Dave, what state is he in? Good luck to him. I hope he is finding better quality homes in his area.

Daizy, he lives near me on Long Island (New York). I have been helping him with some questions relating to my experience in buying a co-op apartment. I have a spreadsheet which does amortization of a mortgage so I can figure out his monthly payment based on the variables (interest rate, # years, $ amount of loan) of a loan.

The interest rate of a mortgage is often tied to the interest rate of a comparable U.S. Treasury bill so if the latter rises so will the former.
