Unofficial Party

I checked my bank account today not expecting to see any change but then I looked where my mortgage balance should be and it was gone. I was kind of hoping to catch it when it said zero but it was just gone so I took a screen shot and wrote in Mortgage.....$0.00 for my own "closure".

That's where it used to be. Right under my credit card. Now it is just blank. My check got processed faster than I expected. I suppose they will mail me the final paperwork in a few days. Then I will really know that it is closed and gone and then I can have a party!

That was $102,000 paid off in 6 years and 8 months!

Wowie! You really did it, Daizy! Congrats to achieving a huge goal and I am glad I was able to see it, for real!

It is too bad all of your followers can't join you and your dogs and have a big party. It would be a festive event.

It took me 9 years to pay off a $56k mortgage in the 1990s so I am quite impressed that you paid off a larger loan in less time than it took me.

With your monthly expenses now greatly reduced and your total income now increased due to the rental property now generating its due, you can replenish your funds and start doing all those things you told us you wanted to do but could not.

Let the games begin.....

P.S. I am glad you took some of my advice in this matter based on my experience. :)

YEA DAIZY!!!!!!!!!!! You have been such an inspiration to me -- I've been paying off debt and saving up a Fully Funded Emergency Fund for the past two years, but it is because of you that I believe that I really can pay off my mortgage ($135K) in the next 7 years. I, too, will probably need to move out of my home and rent it out, and I got that idea from YOU!

I'm so happy for you -- great job!

Wow ya'll, 24 of you left comments. I am flattered that you all have read along with me on this journey and I think it is wonderful that some of you were inspired and even got some ideas from me. I have certainly been inspired and encouraged by the many comments that I have received along the way and I am so glad that I was able to share this experience with so many of you and learn from your experiences too. Thanks for the support!
