Friday finally. It rained a little more last night, just enough to make the dogs track in dirt. It was definitely a job for my new floor scrubber and it worked well. My only complaint is that it doesn't dry fast enough. If the dogs walk by again they leave more muddy footprints.
I hope there is enough water in my water collection tanks to do one load of laundry. One load takes 10 gallons. If not, then I will be bringing a suitcase full of dirty clothes when I visit my sister for Christmas. Actually, I'll probably have to do that anyway.
I was hoping to collect the rent today but as I expected, she is late. She has been very good about paying in recent months but with Christmas time she asked if she could pay rent with the next paycheck instead of the first one. I suppose I won't be a Scrooge about it but it will push my extra mortgage payment to the very end of the month again.

Do youhave mains water? or do you have to collect your own water? water is really expensive here as we pay as much to dispose of it as to buy it, so 'sewerage' is twice the cost of water. I pay £400 a year for metered water and I have to be very careful about what i use - so i kind of, have a drought too!
It is snowing again here so we have more water than we know what to do with, as usual. Now they are telling us this is global warming too.
If I was your sister I would be fine with you turning up with a case full of washing,. Its sort of what families are about.
Have as good weekend and I hope it rains for your soon.
Oh no, a suitcase full of dirty clothes... Killian beat you to it haha! Of corse no one will mind.
Frugal Life UK, in my area people either have a well or get water hauled in my truck. I am the only one that I know of that only uses collected rainwater. 400 pounds is very expensive! When I lived in town with metered water I think my bill for sewer and water was around $400 a year.
Lizzie, ya, my sister won't mind but I have never been to their new apartment so I am not sure what the laundry situation is. No rain in the forecast but my neighbor did offer to let me do laundry at her house. Now I just have to find the time.
Brigette, I'm 38 and still bringing dirty laundry like a college kid. One of these days I should grow up!
