Speaking Of Magazines...

Funny thing that I brought up magazines yesterday. My nephew just started high school. This is only his first week and already it's magazine drive time. I remember it well from my school days. I hated asking people to buy magazines but oh how I wanted those prizes. I still have a frisbee and radio that I won from my magazine drive. I don't think I want any magazines myself but I might find some to buy as gifts for friends. I'll have to look at the list.

I actually was focused and got a lot of work done today. I didn't uncover any of my desk but at least the top layers of papers are not so deep. Next week we move to our new building so I am trying not to forget anything while also trying to pack up. It's a great excuse though. Gee, I would have finished that by now but the server/phones/movers are causing so many problems that I just haven't got to it yet.

It is the weekend and I am very glad. I will sleep in tomorrow or at least take an early morning nap. I forgot to get propane last weekend and I ran out today. My RV fridge was getting warm when I came home from work. I think I was able to rescue everything in time. So now I have at least one errand. Other than that I will try to stay cool as it will be over 100 again. September is right around the corner and I am looking forward to cooler days!

We have charities that look after dogs whose owners have died or have had to move into homes or something and they find new 'parents' for the dogs but I don't think they put down a healthy dog. Maybe there is a problem but i don't know it. or could be that we have smaller houses and less land so having a dog is less automatic. Really seems like an endless problem. Very traumatic for a dog lover.

Lizzie, it would be interesting to find out what other countries do about dogs. I know in Mexico they have a lot of stray dogs on the streets. I saw avideo of a dog shelter in, I think it was Brazil with 3,000 dogs. Wow. I read that the US has twice as many households with dogs as the UK. They have a new TV show about pet hoarders. One lady started out as a breeder and then started keeping them all. You can imagine how fast that would get out of hand!
