My Remedies For Frustration

When I get frustrated that my mortgage plan is taking too long, often times I try to distract myself by going over-board on grocery shopping (hmm, did that yesterday) and by increasing the number of projects that I have going on. Today I did the second part. I got another dog.

Yes, I know, I am crazy. That is what everyone tells me. And yet I continue to hear the animal rescues beg for foster homes and I continue to watch the dogs and cats get put to sleep after they are on the rescue list too long. I could stop looking at the list but I would know the reality was still there. Plus, it feels great to go spring a dog from the pound. I love to watch them blossom from shy and scared to happy and playful.

This is my latest little guy. He is only 12 pounds and very skinny. I will fatten him up in no time. I am supposed to wait a few days before introducing him to my dogs so he is living in a crate in my RV with the cat right now. I'm going to take him to work with me tomorrow and the next day. He is so quiet and calm in his crate that I don't even know he is there.

This was his picture at the pound.

This is his picture after I got him out.

That should keep my mind off the mortgage for a few weeks.

You are right. I might not be the sensible thing to do but its the right tihng to do. He looks like a lovely fella and he is alive and blossoming because of you. How about a few extra months at work just to afford to build them a secure area & kennels. Then you can relax.

You are a great person for saving those dogs from the dreaded pound. They are lucky doggies. Hang in there with the mortgage it's almost gone...I'm so close to having mine gone also and what a feeling that will be.

Thank you so much for the work and care and love that you give to animals . . .They are very lucky to have you. I wish there were more of "you's" in the world!!!

Lizzie, kennel are my top priority. I was just looking at prices of block walls. Way out of my price range. Maybe good old wood fence will do.

Sallie's Niece, thanks for the encourgement. It's just that having to add months on to the end of my plan makes it feel like I'm not making much progress, even though I still am, just not as much.

Sue, you are so right, what a feeling that will be. I just get so excited and impatient sometimes and it turns in to frustration. At least I can save the doggies and they in turn can take my mind off things.

Over the Cubicle, hopefully he is so cute that he will get adopted this weekend and Toto will not get a chance to beat him up.

Thanks Anonymous. People tell me that they could not do what I am doing and I don't really understand because it is so rewarding, educational and fun to me. I get so much out of it, it is definitely worth it even if it is hard and inconvenient at times.
