When they first announced the Stimulus Deal my first thought was to save the money for emergencies. Later on, when I was still hoping for a direct deposit, I got the crazy idea that I would spend it on a laptop. How extravagant of me! But now, I have had time to think about it. I bought more memory for my computer and it is running faster. I don't NEED a laptop just yet. And I hatched a new plan to sell my stuff and pay off my mortgage in the next 2 years or so. So now, this $600 is going toward my mortgage. I need to pay my bills while I still have money coming in. Any day now I could just freak out and quit my job. If I can just keep it together a little longer I will have my rental income to keep me afloat while I figure out what to do with the rest of my life. Just a little while longer...

My Stimulus Check Is So Close I Can Almost Touch It

Don't freak out! But I know what you mean. I go off the deep end every few months. I have just 18 months until I am eligible to start receiving pension benefits. Please let me last..
Thanks for the encouragement. You hang in there too. 18 months...how exciting! I hope you have a great retirement planned.
I will only be 52 - but can I find another job?? - my pension won't be enough to live on and I won't get a raise for 13 years. I just want it to cover my insurance, taxes and invest about $15,000/yr. But will need to find a job to support myself that isn't miserable.
