Zipping Around Town

I have a whole fleet of vehicles this week.  The truck, the PT Cruiser, and my mother's car since she is out of town.  It is kind of fun to be able to choose the best car for the errand.  But then again, it is annoying to have so many cars in my driveway and to worry about backing them out and trying not to hit any of them.  I don't even want to think about the maintenance and upkeep on 3 vehicles.  Good thing this is only temporary.

These weekends keep getting busier and busier.  For some reason I couldn't sleep in so I was up and getting things done at an abnormally early time for me, and by early I mean 8am which is not that early to some.  Actually, I started my weekend by borrowing a sad, shaggy dog from the pound on Friday night.  I saw her photo and I have a friend who is a groomer so I matched them up and she gave the dog a free haircut.

Whew, what a difference.  It looks like a totally different dog!  Maybe this will help her get adopted.

After dropping the dog at the groomer, I stopped by Home Depot.  I could have driven my truck but I wanted to try out the PT Cruiser's hauling capacity.  That is quite a bit of weight I added in the back and my cruiser didn't seem to notice.  Now, hauling manure was probably not the best choice.  The smell tends to linger, but I was very careful and didn't make a mess.

I came home and unloaded my sand, manure, and mulch and then went to a friend's garage sale.  I didn't see anything that I needed but she gave me a shirt for my latest foster dog.  He tolerated it for the picture and had it off by morning.

Then it was grocery shopping and a trip for all of the dog to get their nails clipped.  I bought my groomer friend Taco Bell and she clipped their nails for free, well, for food.  The dogs didn't really like riding in the back since they are used to riding in front with me.  I don't think 3 dogs will fit in the front seat though.  Finally, we all went back home and relaxed for the rest of the evening.

On Sunday, I started off by feeding everyone then transported the schnauzer back to the shelter.  I managed to leave there without another dog but only because I plan to foster the schnauzer if she doesn't get adopted by Wednesday.  Then I went to visit my father at the care home.  It was lunchtime so I kept him company while he ate and then we looked through the photo album that I brought.

Next, I stopped at my mom's house to water her plants and adjust the drip system since she is out of town.  One more stop at Big Lots to buy toilet paper with my $5 off coupon and then finally, I made it home at 4:30.  I really wish I had another day in this weekend.  There is so much more that I want to do but I'll have to wait another 5 days to do it.

Well, they didn't appreciate the clothes so I guess I can take all those expensive dog outfits back to the mall. They'll just have to stay nakid.
