Doing the De-Clutter Dance

There isn't really a de-clutter dance, unless you want to call running back and forth from room to room like a crazy-woman, a dance.  I am thrilled with my de-cluttering progress so far.  Getting rid of the old garage, 2 old cars, trash pile and RV really kicked it off.  Now I am sorting the rest of it and deciding where it should go.  Here is my progress so far:

Open bag of diapers - Facebook free page
4 used tires - Facebook free page
Christmas tree (salvaged from bad tenants) - going to my mother's house
2 dog crates - donated to rescue
2 dog outfits - donated to rescue
rusted gallon of paint - drying out so I can throw it away

It doesn't seem like much but I am working on it little by little.  I haven't found a home for my microwave with the non-working display but I just listed it on Freecycle so I think it will find a home soon.  I might just put my bike in my driveway with a "free" sign.  I haven't decided yet.  It is in bad shape and I don't think the thrift store would want it.  I wonder what happens to things that are too shoddy for the thrift store.  I have heard that un-sold clothes go to orphanages in Mexico but I don't know if that is true.  Next week is our over-sized trash pick-up day so that would be a good day to put things out because people drive around looking for things they can use.  A lot of things make there way down to Mexico.  I often see pick-up trucks towing pick-up trucks piled high with treasures going South.

Anyway, I am looking forward to finding good homes for my stuff and having more room around here.  I have to take a short break this weekend while family is visiting but then I can go back to my "give away, sell, throw away" game.  I hope I can keep up this momentum.

I know the de-clutter dance. Its all wrapped up in that wonderful feeling of lightness you get when you suddenly own less stuff. Ah, bliss

Dave, I think there is more twirling involved in the De-clutter dance because there is so much more room!

Lizzie, definitely! I don't think I could stand to move all of this stuff again. It must go!
