Then there is http://thefieldlab.blogspot.com/. This gentleman built a tiny home in the Texas desert. I am paying attention to how he solves his problems of electricity, heat, water, and keeping cool. I can't seem to let go of the idea of living out on my property. This time I will be more prepared. I want to get rid of the termite infested garage and put a large shed on the concrete slab. Then I will put block wall around the perimeter. The blocks on the concrete slab will keep out the snakes. That's what I've been day-dreaming about anyway. Life might have other plans.
Oh, and I added my store blog, http://fairyandfern.wordpress.com/ and the store link is here: http://fairyandfern.com/. I am selling fairy house kits and accessories. I am still working on the photos and descriptions and adding products.
I need a lot more posts for my store blog. I have so many ideas and not a lot of time yet but I'll keep working on it.

I think you will rent out the house and move back into the desert. You did seem to be happiest there, even with the problems.
Love the fairy houses btw, so cute.
You are so creative! I hope your Fairy House business is successful, it really is a wonderful idea.
I love homesteading blogs, too. I don't think I really WANT to homestead, but I love to read about it. I really love Carla Emery's The Encyclopedia of Country Living. It makes for great reading, even for those of us who aren't homesteaders.
Thanks, Lizzie. I try to keep reminding myself about the problems that I had living out there. If I don't have solutions for them then I'm not allowed to move back!
Thanks Tessie! I hope I can make my idea profitable. So far, I just really like buying inventory and that is very bad! Good thing most of the stuff is very small.
Look into Tinyhouses.cm. you can build a house for around $29,000 and put it on your land .
Sorry , you can build one for $20,000 depending on the materials. Some people using recycled materials have gone as low as $10,000.
Yes, anonymous, I have 3 tiny house blogs that I read to get ideas. I don't want to build it from scratch but I think I could handle finishing a large shed as a small house. Maybe I could handle adding a porch. Building with one person is tricky but maybe I could handle a porch. Perhaps I would start with a deck. I would need better tools. Right now I only have a hammer, an electric drill, and a circular saw. My attempts at adding a wall to the mobile home were sad.
