The 2 labradors I was dog-sitting are gone and I have a new foster dog. He is a chihuahua-dachshund mix, often called a chiweenie. He is quite affectionate and always wants to be in someone's lap. After tripping over those big dogs all last week I am enjoying the calm and the extra space. My other foster dog was spayed today so I guess that means I should be going to adoption events again. Maybe next week. 3 of my friends quit fostering so I am not that excited about going to adoption events. I guess I have to make new friends.
In other news, I am looking forward to cooler weather. Only a few more weeks to go and I can do some yard work without fainting. I chopped down a cactus last week but I haven't had the energy to haul it to the trash can.
My tenants were $300 short on the rent this month. I hope they pay the rest soon but that is all handled by the property management company so I am not going to stress about it. Work is busier than ever. I found myself looking at my retirement spreadsheet again and wishing I had more money saved up. I have around $11k now but I believe my bare-bones plan, the one where I live on my property in a garage, required at least $65k. Well, I'll get there eventually if I keep saving.

Ha, chihuahuas are big snugglers, and dachshunds are big snugglers, so it's not surprising that a hybrid would be equally snuggly.
I have a chihuahua/pug mix. He is also a very cuddly guy.
Oh chugs are cute too! I've seen a few at adoption events. they get adopted fast.
