I left the adoption event for an hour to go look at 2 nearby houses. I liked both of them. They had potential but it would cost a lot to fix them up. I don't think my parents want to pour money in to a house or live in a construction zone.
I finally tried to put my window AC unit in the bathroom window and guess what? The opening is just a few inches too small. The only way it would fit would be sideways but they aren't supposed to sit like that. The window will have to come out and a frame needs to be built for the AC unit. My mother suggested asking our realtor for handyman recommendations and that worked out well. She suggested someone and he will come out Monday to give me an estimate. Until then we will just have to sweat it out since the rain is coming and the humidity is rising. I have all of my fans on high right now. We have rain in the forecast for the next few days and on Tuesday it is supposed to be 111! I need air conditioning!

You weather struggles do make me appreciate the weather around here, although it has barely stopped raining all summer and I am totally fed up with it!
Can you put the AC into a different window, if another one is larger?
In one of our 90+ degree days late last week, my ladyfriend and I put her AC into her (large-enough) window. An annual ritual, we have it down to a science and it took about 10-15 minutes despite both of us dripping wet with sweat.
Lizzie, I would be tired of rain too especially with my 9 dogs tracking in the mud.
Dave, I wish I had another window. That's the only opening except for the sliding glass door.
