Closer...Closer...

The approval letter from the other bank showed up today. Now all that is left is my bank to hand over the money and then the title gets recorded in my name and then I get the key. If all goes well I will pick up the key tomorrow after work. The listing agent has bolt cutters so he will cut the gate lock off of one of the gates. My realtor tells me that the other lock will have to be drilled out. I never looked at that lock so I will have to take her word for it. I'll have to leave a note for the electric company so that they find the open gate. I don't know how hard they actually try to get in the backyard.

While I am at the house, I need to remember to check the dryer outlet or gas hook up. I don't know if it is electric or gas. I am hoping it's electric because I don't want to have to buy a gas dryer. This weekend I want to seal the grout and move the washer, dryer and fridge in. That will be a good start. Next week will be backyard cleanup, dresser and bed, dog fence setup and maybe even moving in. I probably need a day off of work to get everything done. The fun part is finally getting here. I'm getting excited about setting up my new house.

So when you have a housewarming party, I will have two to go to - my friend's (the one who just bought his apartment) and yours! :)

Ah the fun part! Too bad the horribly stressful part always has to come first when it comes to house ownership!

I really need a house"warming" party now. Bring your own heater! I can't believe it snowed today.

Anonymous, good thing this house buying process doesn't happen too often, at least to me. I hope my next house will be built on my property. Of course having a house built is another loooong and stressful process.
