Weekend Shopping Spree

I had 2 coupons for $5 off at Petsmart that expired today. I didn't need to go to Petsmart. It is 40 minutes away. After getting up to feed the dogs this morning I went back to bed. I slept as long as I could and then thought that I should get up and do something productive. Well, if spending money is productive, then I did it.

First stop was Ace Hardware. Now that I have resigned myself to the idea that I will be living in this mobile home for a bit longer, I decided to continue with fixing it up. I spent $36 on plumbing parts and a new valve to fix my leaking shower. I can't have all of my precious rainwater leaking down the drain. I also bought 4 brackets to attach my sink to the cabinet that it is sitting on. I'm not going to have time to tackle these problems this weekend but at least I have all of the parts so that next weekend I can get started.

Next stop was Petsmart. I had coupons for Pedigree dog food and it was on sale. I bought one bag of dry and one case of canned for my toothless dog. He's not totally toothless, the ones that are left are just really worn down. I put everything in my car and then went back in to use my second $5 off coupon. That should last me for a while.

After that I went to Home Depot for a heavy duty trash can to hold laundry water. One of my goals is to move my washing machine inside the mobile home and I can't have the water leaking all over the floor (the trash cans I am using in the garage leak). I wanted to buy another roll of vinyl to put down in my back room but they only had ugly patterns. That can wait because I am nowhere close to being able to put new flooring in there. I need to move at least half of the stuff out.

I also bought three 10' lengths of gutter because I need more water. I want to attach a gutter to my greenhouse and the corner of the mobile home where most of the water spills off. Also, it would be great to have gutters on the shed. I need to buy a water tank for the shed. It was hard to get my cart and the gutters up to the checkout line. I kept hitting things. 10' is very tall but I did it and got them home.

I spent a lot of money today but I am happy to be moving forward with some of the projects that have been annoying me for a very long time. Now that I have the materials I just need to find the time to do it.
