Laundromats Confuse Me

This weekend was a whirl-wind of activity. Last weekend was too but that was different because I was travelling and travelling is always hectic. On Saturday I was able to transfer 250 gallons of water from the jacuzzi to my mobile home water tank. That is the last of my water. I hope it will last until it rains again.

Then I gathered up all of my laundry including the sheets and blankets for both beds, the dog beds and even the dusty curtains and went to the laundromat. It is 35 minutes away. I brought a bunch of quarters thinking that a load was maybe $1.50. Well, the laundromat used the card system. I should have remembered that. When I lived in an RV park they changed to the card system back in 2005. Luckily I was able to borrow a card from the front desk and then put money on to it so that I could use the machines. The washers cost $1.59 for the small ones, $2.37 for the medium, $3.89 for the large and $6.53 for the extra large (I don't have those penny amounts correct but they were all odd amounts.) I ended up using 3 small washing machines, 1 medium and 1 large. It was more expensive than I expected but it sure was nice to get 5 loads of laundry done all at once and I didn't even have to haul any water. After starting all of the loads I realised that I forgot my regular laundry. darn. I hope I have enough clean socks.

When they were finished I put them all back in the trash bags and brought them home to dry. No point in paying for dryers when I have one at home. I stopped at Big Lots on the way home. I should be banned from that store. I was curious to see if they had any Hoover Floormates leftover. I was surprised to see one but on further inspection the label said "broken, accessories. Sale Final $50". I asked a clerk if I could open the box and he said yes. The broken part was a piece of plastic about on inch wide. I decided to buy it anyway. $50 was a great deal and I hoped that it worked without that piece. I put it together today and it works just fine. Half of my floor is very clean (the dogs were lying on the other half so I didn't clean it yet). It isn't something I will use everyday but possibly once a week. Oh, and in the booklet it said there were supposed to be a second set of brushes but mine only had one. That must have been what they meant by "accessories".

I did a lot more this weekend but I will write about it tomorrow.

I am equally excited about my vacuum flower girl. I didn't think I would get one for many more months.
