Looking Forward To Monday

I rarely buy new foods in the grocery store. I know what I like and I make a list, get in, fill the cart and get out as quickly as possible. The whole ordeal of pushing a cart around, maneuvering in and out of small aisles, dodging people and children, loading up the car, unloading the car, and putting everything away makes me very tired. Then I take a look at the bill and I'm tired and depressed.

I had to go pick up some dog food after work and, of course, there were a few other things that I needed so that I don't have to go shopping again soon. One of those things was food for breakfast at work. I was eating peanut butter toast, then I switched to bagels and cream cheese. I really shouldn't eat bagels and cream cheese every day so I looked at the cereal aisle. My staple cereal is Cheerios. I eat them plain, no milk, at my desk. Sometimes I eat granola, sometimes I try a different cereal like Corn Bran. Today I looked at the Cheerios and none of them were on sale. I was about to move on when something else caught my eye...Chocolate Cheerios. And they were on sale because they are new.

Now I'm not usually the first person to try a new product but this one is mixing two things I like a lot. I haven't tried them yet. I'm going to save them for work so that I have something special to look forward too. They probably aren't as good as I am imagining...I'm thinking tiny chocolate donuts. But I have to admit that I was sucked in my their marketing and they got my $2.50. Now I have a reason to look forward to Monday.

There was an old Saturday Night Live/John Belushi skit about a little chocolate donuts breakfast cereal. It made him a world class athlete or something like that, aort of like Wheaties. That is the first thing I thought of when I saw the picture.

Wow, chocolate Cheerios! They don't have them here yet in Canada. You'll have to let all of us know how they stack up!

I saw those at Walmart yesterday, all piled up right at the front door. They looked good!
