Cancelled

The bad thing about getting my bills by mail for my car insurance is that they are always way behind reality. I got a notice from them today that my policy would be cancelled as of February 4th. I could remedy this by paying the bill. At the bottom of the page it says, Please disregard if you have already paid this bill. Well, I have already paid online so I guess I can disregard the notice...as long as I trust their online bill pay service. It was quite unnerving to see a cancellation notice though.

Another item that I have managed to lose (besides my car insurance bill) in my giant-stack-o-mail is my tax form for my job...whatever number that form is...W-2? 1099? I don't know. I am not even sure I got it but other people say that they have theirs so maybe I had better look closer. I did manage to sort through the largest stack of mail last weekend and most of it went in the recycle bin. I still need to put my important letters in to categories and file them. Oh and perhaps this would be a good time to clean out my files and do some shredding. But I won't get to that chore yet. My next chore, besides fix the plumbing, is to do my taxes. That usually takes me 2 weekends at least. I can't believe it's that time of year already.

Did you get any rain?

Daizy, you should be more concerned about the missing W-2 (income tax for wage earners) form than the insurance notice you can disregard even if you found it unnerving. Even though you can get a duplicate form if you misplaced it, you need to have one. (BTW, it is nice not waiting for one any more for the first time since the 1980s.)

Your filing system sounds a lot like my friend's. He misplaces stuff all the time and often trashes stuff he is supposed to keep while keeping stuff 3 or 4 or 10 years old he has no need to keep such as credit card bills from 1999!

I'll be thinking about you as I do my major shredding of 2008 stuff I keep for only one year. The pile is pretty big, so I will create enough stuff to have a ticker-tape parade.

Good ole tax time. I think we get our forms from work tomorrow. I would like to send the IRS a cancellation letter.

I did get rain last weekend. The rain tanks were full but then I moved water around to other tanks and now have space for 200 or so more gallons. It should rain again tomorrow!

Dave, I used to be a little more organized pre-dogs. But just a little. I'm not worried yet since I haven't looked very much. There aren't a lot of hiding spaces in this RV.

Over the Cubicle, you should try that but it might draw unwanted attention. Stay very very still and maybe they won't notice you. :P

Taxes or plumbing?
The ever present dilemma:
which one first, the urgent or the important?

KoBold, taxes aren't due til April so I think plumbing wins! I just want to see if I am getting any refund...that would make my taxes more interesting.
