But is it really a no spending Monday if I used electricity, gasoline and propane? Ok, no spending besides utilities, insurance, registration, property tax, am I forgetting anything? It is very difficult to spend nothing at all. If I had nothing to protect, no possessions to insure or replace and no worries about sickness or injury, no need for light or refrigeration or transportation, then I could truly spend nothing. Like the pioneers. I could also catch cholera and die at a young age.
Ok, nevermind. I don't mind spending a little bit every day to make my life a little safer and hopefully last a little longer. Oh...I forgot food, I ate today too.
Other than not spending superfluous monies, I was able to lend my glider/rocking chair to a friend who is having visitors and lacks furniture. I am glad someone is able to use it for a while. I feel kind of greedy sometimes looking at all of the stuff in my mobile home. I offered sheets, blankets and dishes too but they had enough.
Let's see if I can do a no superfluous spending Tuesday too.

Hi there-well done on the no spending, wishing you a good week my dear!
"No spending Monday"?
Make it a "Buy Nothing Monday". That would exclude regular fees, putting emphasis on not making unnecessary purchases.
Nevertheless, being frugal is about not making unnecessary purchases, ever, isn't is?
:-)
Hi Sharon Rose, hope you have a lovely week too!
KoBold, but then I couldn't use the word 'superfluous' :) If I never make unnecessary purchases does that mean I can never buy a horse?
non superfluous is a mouthful.
It is sort of discouraging in a way to realize that you need to spend money each and every day. Not as depressing as death by cholera, as you point out...
Over the Cubicle, I figured out that my life costs $23 per day on my $700/m budget. Without health insurance. The panhandlers on the corner say they make $50-$100 per day. Interesting.
Sounds like you would only have to panhandle 7 to 14 days. Not bad :)
