No More Groceries

The supermarket ads came out this week and Fry's (Kroger) is doing their buy 10 get $5 off sale again. Last time I filled my freezer with frozen dinners for $1.50 each. Unfortunately, I bought 3 beef stroganoffs because I was feeling adventurous and it turns out I really don't like them. I do like their little chicken and mashed potato dinners so I was about to go shopping when I realized I am going out of town soon. Of course frozen dinners will last a long time, but do I NEED them? Kroger has this sale quite often so it isn't like I'll never get the chance again.

If I look at my grocery list, I only NEED 2 items: carrots and batteries. I know batteries aren't groceries but I need them anyway. I don't want my digital camera to run out of batteries on this trip. So I don't need to do any major shopping. I only have 7 days before I go to visit my parents. I can easily eat what I have. And guess what I have? Chicken, frozen vegetables, and potatoes (real and instant). Now why would I go buy little frozen chicken dinners for $1.50 a piece when I have all of the food at my house already? Because frozen meals are quick and easy, that's why. But, I have plenty of time this weekend to cook up lunches for the week so I have no excuse to shop. I just need to keep anything other than carrots and batteries from clinging on to me when I go to the store....like ice cream, cookies, popcorn, donuts.....

Sometimes when I get home from the store, the broccoli I thought I was buying turns out to actually be donuts. Weird.

Very weird. Gee, I hope my carrots don't turn in to carrot cake. That would be just awful.
