I came home today, turned on the computer, clicked on the internet...and nothing. I looked at the modem. No internet light. Ahhh! I unhooked the modem, got out my extension cord and tested the modem outside at the pedestal. Still didn't work. Since I didn't want to use up precious daytime minutes listening to a Qwest representative say, "turn it off, turn it on, what lights are green?", I watched TV waiting until 8 pm when my nighttime minutes begin. When it was cool enough to go for a walk at about 7:30 I looked at the modem and surprise, I had all green lights Yah! I must be addicted to the internet because the thought of a night without it just seemed empty:(
On a different subject, I got my computer memory in the mail and tried to hook it up yesterday. After I finally got the clips to grasp the little module my computer booted up and gave me a crazy scrambled screen. Uh-oh. This isn't going to be as easy as I had hoped. Just snap it in and turn on your computer the installation guide said. I don't think so. I called their customer service and the nice fellow gave me 3 suggestions I could try before I return it. I haven't tried them yet since the internet was down and they involve downloading a compatibility program. So that I what exciting adventure I have planned for this evening. I really hope it works. I don't want to send it back. I want a faster computer!
