Whew, My Stuff Moved Out and Tenants Moved In

Well, if everything goes well with these tenants I won't have another chance to move back to my house until next March. It will be interesting to see how much the utility bills actually are for 8 people. I hope I estimated correctly. The tenants are thrilled with the house and I hope they enjoy staying there. It is really too big for just one person. I felt kind of selfish living there all alone. I only really lived in half of it.

I stayed up late last night taking pictures off of the walls and bagging blankets and sheets. This morning I cashed their check and this afternoon I spent another hour trying to stuff everything on to my truck so that I wouldn't have to make 2 trips. This all happened so fast, I hope I made the right decision to rent out the house. Now I will focus on making my mobile home and RV more livable. That means making the water collection system easier to use and maybe moving the washer and dryer inside the mobile home instead of in the garage.

Since I don't have to worry about renting the house maybe I can get back to organizing, selling some stuff, practicing those airbrushed flames that I still have to do, and maybe even make a craft for next year's Christmas season. I doubt that last one will happen. Weekends just fly by. I honestly don't think I will have time to get back in to any artistic activity until I quit my day job. Maybe 5 years or so. Still so far away but I'm making progress.

Well, it looks like your repayment plan is back on track! I have two questions (just out of curiosity, I won't be offended if you don't answer):

1. Is that Golden Retriever yours?

2. Do you plan to be a freelance artist after you quit your day job?

Hi Shuchong!
The Goldie is my neighbor's dog. They have 2 of them and let them run free. Luckily only one was there that day because I left my RV door open while I was unloading and my oblivious cat walked outside. The dog spotted her and she saw the dog when she was about 5 feet away from the door. I was able to grab the dog before he started chasing and the cat eventually made it back inside after running around in a panic trying to find a place to hide. Once before the cat came outside while both dogs were there and they chased her under the mobile home. When I build my house I am going to have a screened porch for the cat so she can be outside but still protected!

And yes, I want to do something artistic. I haven't figured out what that is but I want to be able to figure it out without the pressure of making a living, thus my goal of financial independence. If I sold my house and property I would have about $270,000 and I could live on the interest but I would have to park my RV in my parent's driveway! If I wait 5 years or so I can afford to build a house and quit my day job, I hope.
