Here I am stuck in rental limbo again. This is exactly what I said I was not going to do again like I did last year. Except last year was worse because I tried to sell the house so there was the whole keeping the house in "show condition" thing that was really annoying. Everyday I get a new enthusiastic email from some prospective renter and then I write back, then they write again, then they disappear.
Today when I got home from work I dragged all of the chairs in the house to the dining/living room area so that I could take a picture and prove to one of my potential renters (who only wants to come out for 5 days!) that 7 people CAN eat at the table. (My mammoth computer is hiding on the floor.)
Ok, so it's a little squishy, but it is possible.
Then I had to show him alternate arrangements with the patio table and dinette set from the master bedroom. If I include the 2 barstools I could throw a dinner party for 15!!! No one would be able to walk around but they should be eating not walking!
I got another inquiry from someone who wanted the house for 2 families, 8 people total for who knows how long. I'm a little worried about 8 people and the summer AC bill. It's going to be $300+! I know I can't discriminate against large families but can I at least say only 1 family at a time??? I guess I need to say that in my ad.
All of this makes me want to take the rest of the year off and just move back in until my nice guests come back next January. I should at least give it until April don't you think? I'm so impatient.
