Procrastination Can Be Motivating

If I don't have any deadlines looming, everyday chores can seem boring and monotonous. But when there is something big that needs to be done, like taxes or a complicted project, I attack my chores with enthusiasm. Anything is more interesting than the bigger project.

The project that I am avoiding this weekend is the airbrushed flames project that I talked about here. I really need to just do it. I did briefly attempt some flames with spray paint but that was too messy. I have an orange-red thumb now though. I tried out the can of paint that is supposed to be the base color for the motorcycle tank but it is a purple kind of red. The orange red that I bought to practice with clashes terribly and the yellow paint is too old and won't spray. Oh well, I guess I get to go paint shopping again.

While I was avoiding my airbrush project I did 2 loads of laundry by hauling water to the washing machine. It wasn't too bad. It went a lot quicker than I thought it would and I am thrilled to have clean clothes again. I also spent way too much time trying to create a re-direct page for my web site. I was able to forward my blog to www.myfrugalfreedom.com successfully but it was a lot more complicated to re-direct myfrugalfreedom.com (without the www). I had so many help screens open that my computer froze. It was a good time to go for a walk. It was a beautiful day anyway and I was spending too much time indoors.

I clicked though to your site from a comment you left on The Dough Roller. How funny to see a post about procrastination! I am a master! I totaly agree about a big project that you want to avoid being the motivation for lots of other little things! Good luck on all you excited projects that you are procrastinating on! Just come up with something bigger- Like painting your house and see if that motivates you! Ha ha just kidding! Good luck!
