Emergency Snickerdoodles

I spent most of the day at work trying not to think about money but it didn't work. My thoughts jumped from dental bills to my mortgage to my inability to save any extra money right now. I came home craving ice cream but I don't have any because I was trying to eat healthier. I ended up making some emergency snickerdoodles to keep myself from going to the store. I brought my toaster oven from my RV a couple of weeks ago so I didn't have to heat the whole house. I only baked 4 to eat now and 4 for tomorrow's lunch and put the rest of the dough in the fridge. Toaster ovens are great. They are like grown up easy-bake ovens except they work better. It is still 100 degrees outside so it isn't quite baking weather. I can't wait to turn off the AC and see my electric bill drop dramatically.

I called my old dentist and they said they could see me and if I brought my new x-rays they "might" not charge me for a second opinion. As much as I want to go back to that dentist, it is a 3 hour drive each way so we are talking about taking a day off of work and $80 in gas at least. The only benefit would be if he thought it was something that he did wrong that caused a crack or cavity to form and he fixed it for free. I kind of doubt that he would do any work for free. My teeth have always been prone to cavities and I think an on-lay was a bad choice. It just preserved more of my own cavity prone tooth. A day of vacation is worth $144 to me plus $80 for gas, that's $224 for the trip. I could also get a second opinion from another local dentist. I am actually thinking that I should find a dentist closer to my house. This new one was recommended by a co-worker but the office is downtown and I hate driving downtown. I have an appointment for a cleaning on Monday. I'll see how that goes.
