Wow, it has been so long since I have been to the grocery store I almost forget what it looks like. The last time I went was, I think, 2 weeks from last Sunday. That was...oh, that was 18 days ago.
I have been eating the food that I already have including the 2 month old baby carrots that I talked about in an earlier post. I decided that I couldn't buy any more watermelon until I ate the carrots. It's been tough but I didn't want to throw them away.
My grocery list is getting longer now. I need to do some meal planning so that I buy food that will last and not just what sounds good (like goldfish crackers, soda, frozen pizza, convenient breakfast food, and cookies!). I have to buy toilet paper so I hope it is on sale. Also, frozen vegetables, watermelon, chicken, lettuce, milk, stick margarine for baking, and something to eat at work that isn't totally bad for me. I have been keeping chocolate chips in my drawer. Who needs the whole cookie? I just want the chocolate.
I will let myself have cookies if I make them myself. Last week I made snickerdoodles. They were much better than the ones at the store. I want to try to make apple muffins this week for a quick breakfast. The last breakfast bar I bought was not very good. Spending money on food that doesn't even taste good is just plain crazy. Oh, and I need to buy brand name popping corn to continue my popcorn experiments.
If I can keep the list down to $30 I will be doing great.
