When I got home today I was going to take 2 dogs for a walk. I can only handle 2 at a time which, of course, makes the dog who is left behind howl in misery. Before I got the leashes, I let the dogs run around the front yard. That's the yard I made myself with fence posts and wire. Not exactly secure. So, my dogs start barking and I look out and there are the 2 neighbor dogs. Oh great. Yes, they start fighting through the fence. The little guy is right in the middle of it all. He's a little fighter. I got a leash and dragged my dog inside, then picked up my little dog who scratched me because he didn't want to go in. Finally the neighbor's dogs wandered towards the back so, of course, my dogs ran to the dog run where the resumed the fight. I know those neighbor's dogs come over during the day when I am gone because there are many places in the chain link where the wire is crushed or pulled. They are going to ruin my dog run soon.
Psycho Pitty, as I like to call her, was so worked up that she had bloody teeth. That's when I decided to throw a glass of water on her to break it up. I was thrilled that it worked. Then I calmed my dogs down inside. I don't know what would have happened if I had met those other dogs while walking my dogs. I am afraid my dogs would really get hurt. Just what I need, a big vet bill. So besides being tired after work and just wanting to watch a little TV, I remember my other excuse for not walking my dogs...Psycho Pitty and her Sharpei friend. The Sharpei is actually not a fighter. He usually just watches from a distance. I really want a nice block wall yard. No neighbor dogs allowed! At the very least, I can't quit until I can afford a block wall.
