One Pup Less

I dropped my pit mix dog off at the vet today to get spayed, then headed across town to a doggie adoption event at the local used bookstore. Turns out I was the only one there. The lady in charge of the rescue group brought 2 of her dogs plus the cages and literature but then she had to go work and later pick the dogs up from the vet. So I sat there with my 3 dogs and chatted with people (mostly children) about the cute doggies.

Being an introvert it was quite draining for me to sit there for 4 hours talking to strangers but it went well. There was a lot of interest in my golden foster pup. At the last minute, when the rescue lady came back and we were packing things up, a woman with kids decided to adopt my foster dog. I am glad and hope the puppy has a great life.

So now I have a new problem. I have one foster pup who is full of energy and another cranky foster dog who just got spayed. I need another puppy to balance things out again. The rescue lady is going to send me pictures of some potentially new foster pups. I would love to get the other 2 adopted but that will be a challenge. They both have "issues".

This weekend was very tiring for me and I wish I had another day off, but no, here comes Monday!

Maybe somebody out there needs an ornery pit mix as a watchdog or something. Hope you can find permanent homes for them both.

My dog was gull grown with issues when I adopted her, so somebody may come along for yours too.

She's not a good watchdog. Too people friendly. I think the only way I'll get the 2 adopted is in person at adoption events. Too bad the events take up so much of my weekend. Pup 1 was jumping all over me tonight. I need to get her a playmate asap!
