More Shopping But Not More Progress

I went back to the outlet store today, list in hand, but I came out without any one marked off of my list. I guess I can't go to outlet stores when I have specific things in mind. Now I am going to have to go to the department stores and pay department store prices. Eek. I should really learn how to knit or something so that I can give homemade gifts.

In my storage area I found a bag with some brand new baby clothes. The elastic was so old on the little pants that it was crunchy. I really need to give things like that away before that happens. Why am I storing perfectly good items when other people can use them? It's not a frugal purchase if I just let it decay and be ruined. I should be able to salvage the little pants. Elastic isn't too hard to replace. And then I need to give it away!

I finally make red beans and rice tonight. I bought a pepper and onion last week but I didn't make it until the pepper was half-way brown. I only used half of the onion and now I don't know what to do with it. Last time I put it in the fridge and it made everything smell like onion, including the freezer.

If I make applesauce tomorrow from the apples that I bought a month ago I will feel like I have accomplished a lot this weekend. I am trying really hard not to let food go bad again. In my attempt to save my food from mold I have been freezing my bread. Yesterday I looked in the freezer and I had around 5 different kinds of bread in there. Hamburger buns, hot dog buns, rolls, french bread, sandwich bread. That isn't good either because I can't see the bread and I won't eat it. I made french toast this morning so that's 3 pieces down, only um, a lot to go!
