Things are going to slow down now, right? Probably not. On Friday, drove my nephew up to Phoenix to catch a plane to his grandparents' house where he will be attending school. I tried to pack as much as I could in to his 2 checked bags since they were free with Southwest airlines. He still wants me to ship his nerf guns. I'm going to wait awhile to see if there is anything else that he wants me to ship. He wasn't thrilled about going because his grandparents are strict but he will be much better off under their supervision.
After driving all the way to Phoenix and back, I had the bright idea to go out to my property and check things out and gather a few items. It was over 100 degrees and I over did it, as usual. I was hot, tired and dehydrated and I paid for it for the rest of the weekend with a sinus headache.
My next goal is to clean the house so that my sister and her family doesn't have an allergy attack when they visit in a few weeks. Everything in my house is covered in dust. Even the walls. The dogs, the dirt in the yard plus the old vents from my cooler mean that the dirt gets distributed to every corner. I decided to attack the problem with my most powerful vacuum, the shop vac. It was covered in dust even thought it was in the hall closet so first I had to wipe it down. Then I started vacuuming and I noticed dog hair flying out the back of the vacuum. Seems the filter wasn't connected inside so I fixed that and kept going. It didn't work well on the carpet so I'm going to need the regular vacuum for that. After a while, I was hot and tired again and I decided to wait until it was closer to their arrival so that I didn't have to do all this vacuuming and dusting twice.
After that I moved on to the laundry since that takes less work and I put away anything in my nephew's room that might get broken when the visitors take over his room. I also organized the inventory for my store. It was getting out of hand with all the boxes. Now it all fits nicely in the armoire. There is still so much to do to get ready for their visit, but first, I have to make it through another week of work.

If you want to be a multi-property owner (including the fairy houses!), work has definitely got to take a smaller amount of your time. Or you need to 'make friends' with some guy who really likes home maintenance!
I've been looking for a handy friend. I can't seem to find one. Maybe I have "needy" written on my forehead.
