Happy New Year's Eve

Yay! Another Saturday spent trying to get dogs adopted and this time it paid off because the dog I was supposed to dog-sit for the next 11 days got adopted! I sure hope he stays adopted. I was not looking forward to having him here. My foster dog did not get adopted. Some people came to meet him but they ended up adopting a smaller dog. Maybe next time...

Tonight I am staying in with my dogs and watching a movie from Amazon rentals. I got a gift card for Christmas. It was just what I wanted for my exceedingly rare long weekends. My next holiday isn't until April. If I get my house though I will surely want to take a vacation day or 2 before that. April seems like forever from now.

Happy New Year to you, too! I hope I'm catching you before the day rolls over. But I believe you are (quick calculation) two hours away, time-zone-wise, and I may have missed it. It's 10:12 PM here.

Many of us are being thrifty this year, I noticed - using a gift certificate or in my case, using points earned that resulted in a credit on one of my cards. It was great to swipe the plastic and know that I wasn't creating a debt or using my own money - it felt like I was using "free" money (or a gift from the credit card company, or so it felt like.)

Ah, silly me... it's EARLIER where you are, not later. You see, I should know that. And no jokes about drinking, please - I haven't had a drop (yet.) I think it has simply been a long day. (I started to pour milk into someone's orange juice today, too. LOL)

Daizy, it's 9 a.m. January 1 of a new minted year in my part of the world, 13.5 hours ahead of PST. I hope many good things are in store for you in 2012. Philo

444, you caught your mistake before I could respond. Yep, I'm 2 hours behind. Lots of time left to party here.

Thanks Philo! I hope it is a great year for you too.

9.10 am here now. The kids had a party which included three hours of the singing games LIPS on the Xbox. However the neighbours were away so at least we didn't keep them awake & ten minutes of stacking the dishwasher & the recycling bins seems to have restored order. Plus its lovely and quiet as they are still sleeping!

Happy New Year, Daizy! 2011 was a heckuva year for you, paying off your mortgage and on the brink of buying a house while maintaining your dog adoption while barely coexisting with all the snakes and other unfriendly visitors LOL!

Lizzie, all was quiet here except for the fireworks that made my little dog want to hide under the covers. And today they slept all day, lazy dogs.

It sure was an interesting year Dave. Paying off the mortgage was so great. The snakes were terrifying. Talk about a motivating factor! Those snakes sure helped my focus! I hope you have a great 2012.
