Chicken Chores

The phone rang this morning and it was my neighbor. Oh no, I thought, did the dogs escape? Are they barking non-stop? No, it wasn't my dogs, he just wanted me to look in on their chickens while they are out of town. Whew, I can do that.


I stole their eggs and they pecked me for it. I thought about getting chickens like I had when I was a kid but I don't eat eggs that much and the cost of keeping them and the time spent on chicken chores would out-weight the benefit. Plus dogs and chickens don't mix that well.

I should eat my 5 brand new eggs tomorrow, or at least eat 2. I suppose they will lay more eggs for me tomorrow. I like this chicken-sitting arrangement. It is a nice change of pace from dogs who don't produce anything except poop...although dogs are more fun to play with.
