Slim Pickings For Heaters In Winter

I went in to town today, dog-free and with a list of chores. First on the list was to return the heater that I bought from Lowe's last week. It couldn't seem to heat the bathroom without overheating and shutting off. When I looked for a reset button I saw instructions printed on it that said if it overheats then I have to unplug it and wait 30 minutes. I can't believe they would sell a heater that they know overheats! I can't be there all day to babysit a heater so I took it back. I looked at their other heaters but didn't see one that was better. Next I went to Home Depot because I have some gift cards so I thought I could get a heater for free. They only had 3 heaters left, a radiator, a small heater, and an outdoor heater. After that I went to Kmart and found a heater for $30 more than the heater I had before. For that price it had better work!

Then I went to Petsmart and stocked up on dog food. I was hoping they had some nice sales going on but no such luck. After that I dumped my recycling at the collection sight and then got my propane tank filled. My tanks were so low that I didn't even want to try to cook since the fridge depends on propane. Last night I cooked 5 chicken breasts and noodles on my electric stove top so I should be set for lunches this week.

I made it home by 3 but then had to take 2 dogs to my friend's house because she said she would give them a bath and trim for me. I am envious of people with plentiful water. It was so nice of her to help me out. Dogs from the pound come out with a particularly bad smell and I don't have enough water for dog baths. There is actually a dog wash not too far from me but it is outside and the weather is chilly so I didn't try that option.

I got a lot done this weekend and I am once again sad that it is over. Time to get back in work mode and earn another paycheck.

Ya, if only I had known I would need a heater for the pregnant dog in my bathroom! Too bad I missed the AC clearance sales. I bet I will need another one this year. Mine are getting old.
