Mulling Over Housing Again

I started looking at steel buildings again today. There was somewhere in Phoenix where I saw a place that had them all set up and you could walk through them. I think I found the website today. I did the online quote for a 30x50 building and it came to $23,000 with installation and concrete pad. That's not bad. Of course I would need electricity, septic, and gutters for water collection. Maybe I could get solar panels.

I'm just daydreaming again. I haven't decided what I want to live in. The mobile home doesn't seem like something that I want to put more money into. It doesn't contribute to the value of the property at all. It will always be an old mobile home. The garage won't last for very long with all the termite damage. The shed is cute but too small for my plans now that I have a dog hobby. A steel garage with living quarters seems the most affordable at the moment. $23k would mean I have to work for another year after the mortgage is gone. Then I would have to work a little longer to pay for making part of it in to an apartment.

I'll keep thinking. There are many options out there. It just depends on how long I want to keep working. I could get a construction loan and build a regular house if I wanted to. That would mean working another 5-8 years at least. I don't even want to think about that.
