One Day Closer

One day closer to Friday! Only one day of work to get through until my vacation! Yea! I've already been able to say 'goodbye until next year' to a few people who are taking the next 2 weeks off. One of our offices closes for 2 weeks so they are wrapping things up. That means tomorrow will be quiet until someone finds something that is supposed to be done before they leave and then *panic*. We will send a flurry of emails and phone calls to get it resolved in time. Hopefully there won't be too many of those instances.

I haven't begun to pack. I want to wait until I get the dogs situated in their temporary home before I start pulling things out to pack. I still don't know what time to drop them off or the address...or how I am going to fit 3 dogs in a pick-up truck.

The little darling dogs got out of their hallway prison today. They figured out that they can push the door open if they try hard enough. They only destroyed a cardboard box holding some cans of dog food. No real damage but it is still disturbing that they must find something to destroy when left alone. I want to be able to trust them alone. My dog is probably the biggest culprit. At 8 months old he is still a puppy. When I get back I'll continue to work on my puppy-proofing mobile home project. One of these days I'll be one step ahead of these dogs instead of one step behind.

Your truck should definitely be cozy for the ride to their temporary home. Maybe make a test run somewhere after jamming them all in it?

I do have a big cage that I could put in the back and stuff a few in there is necessary. The most dogs I've had in the cab is 2.

I remember when I was working full-time I began taking most of or all of the last 2 weeks off at the end of December. This started in the early 1990s when I first got that big 3rd week of vacation and stopped going to California every summer for 7-10 days, freeing up some days to use at the end of the year. It became my favorite time of year, of course!

Then again, for the last 13 months or so, every week has been like that so this time of year has lost its luster. :P

Dave, maybe you should get a job and then this time of year would become special again, haha. I have 2 more years until I get 3 weeks. I don't know if I will stick with it long enough to see them.
