Friday will be the end of the month and I have $50 left in my budget. I don't have any immediate needs. I have food and drinks, ice cream, chocolate and fruit so I don't need to go shopping. I have a full tank of gas, a large bag of cat food, plenty of water and my bills are up to date.
So, what shall I do with my little surplus? Well, I usually hang on to it just in case the next month has unexpected bills. I could also put it in my travel fund. Thanksgiving is right around the corner and I need another plane ticket. Then there are the little purchases that I have put off like RV light bulbs, shoe polish for my aging black shoes, and hair dye(for my premature grey hair). Those aren't emergencies but they would be nice to have. Or maybe I should save it for the camping trip which may or may not happen soon.
Whatever I do with it, it is very nice to have a little extra money once in a while. Oh wait, I forgot, there's also the surge protector for my RV that I was going to buy, and front shocks for my truck, and my computer fund to replace this old one... I think I'll just hang on to the money for now. I'm sure it will let me know where it should go.

Nice job!
You are right. Something will somehow let you know that it needs money spent on it.
The more I think about it the more I think of needy things. I should clear my mind. Ummmmmm....
Extra money is always so hard to decide what to do. I'd put it aside until one of the things you "need" becomes dire (but don't wait too long so a problem doesn't become worse). The dire need could be the money for the travel during the holidays, too, of course.
Hi Beth, I think I might be spending some of that surplus on hornet traps! Or maybe I can find some homeade traps on the web. It's always something.
