Stolen ipod Update

After a flurry of phone calls, emails and text messages I think we have sorted out the ipod dilemma. As you know my nephew, who is in the hospital, was given an ipod from his cousin loaded with the cousin's favorite tunes to share. 2 days later the ipod had vanished from his hospital bedside table. The worst part was that we couldn't just get him a new ipod. We had to get him an ipod with songs already on it, ready to go, and get it there fast. That was complicated. Well, it turns out that another cousin is willing and able to make the trip to visit the hospital and has an extra ipod with music already loaded. Thanks to low airfare she will be there tomorrow to cheer him up. Isn't it great that airlines aren't charging those horrid prices for next day flights anymore? No more 7-14 day pre-purchase rules. It makes things so much easier. Thanks to my sister too for buying the ticket and getting her to the airport!

This was much better than my own plan which was to send my nephew the old mp3 player that was left at my rental house. Turns out it has 125 Disney songs on it. Too bad he doesn't like Disney songs! I was just about to buy and download way too many High School Musical and Camp Rock songs when my niece called me and told me her plan. Whew. That was a close call. :P

Then today, my other sister called the hospital and explained to them the mystery of the disappearing ipod. The staff was as dismayed as we were that someone would do such a shameful thing as stealing from a child's hospital room. They offered to refund the purchase price of the ipod. Yea! That was very generous of them.

So, working together we were able to figure out a quick solution to the problem. My nephew doesn't know all of this went on behind the scenes. All that matters is that hopefully he will have an ipod to listen to by tomorrow night and a cousin to amuse him as an added bonus! Now we just have to make sure that ipod doesn't walk away again.

Sounding a lot better for him. Hospital stays are so dismal. I hope this ipod stays put and brings him some happiness until he gets to go home.

Me too. It is a helpless feeling being so far away.

I to be that thought the update was going to be that it was found under a cupboard of something. Cant beleive anyone would stoop so low. I am glad you found a soluton and hope he is home again soon.

Hey at least the iPod he is using now comes with an armband. So maybe it won't be that easy to take. If someone is mean enough to unstrap it from his little arm...
