Snow Day?

No snow yet but they say it will snow tonight. I wish they would cancel work for a snow day. Snow is so rare here in Tucson we should all be allowed to play in it until it melts.

The boss came by today to make some copies and started talking about our company's profit sharing plan. The profit sharing announcement comes out soon. I said that I would probably owe the company because we have not been making much of a profit(a little joke). He said that last year was still a good year. That's great, I said, but I have only qualified for profit sharing since December 2008. He said, then that is bad for you. Then he said that he hopes the company continues the 401k match. I said, have you heard something? No, he said, It just seems like the next thing to go.

That's just great. If they stop matching the 401k I will stop contributing for now. I'd rather have the money now than watch is vaporize in the stock market.

Last weekend the news announced that a new local company was hiring hundreds of workers and having a job fair. Today the news reported that thousands of people stood in line for hours at that job fair and the company was only hiring 200 at the moment. At least the news people won't go out of business. They have plenty of tales of woe to share. I hope I don't become one.

Gonna be near 70 here tomorrow. We had all our snow (I hope) last week. Times like these, I am grateful for just the job. 401k is the least of my worries.

Also, I stumbled on this link about RV refrigerators that have been recalled. Reminded me of yours going bad. Don't know if it applies to the one you have, but here it is:

Thanks for the link. It isn't on the list but I got a free circuit board from them after the first replacement failed. It burned out in the first few months so I think there was another problem. I gave up after that and just kept using propane.

It certainly is scary times. I feel like I hear more bad news every day...

Saver Queen, it certainly is scary. It wouldn't be so bad if there was an end in site. My savings would last a year without a job but some people have been out of work for a lot longer. Ok, I'm depressing myself. Happy thoughts...happy thoughts :)
