My little garden suffered while I was gone. My neighbor was supposed to be looking out for it but I guess she got busy and missed a day or two. The temps were over 100 so a day or two of no water took its tole.
I didn't get a chance to eat my first zucchini. I thought another week of growing time wouldn't hurt it. When I got back it had shriveled. Too bad. The plants are struggling and probably won't produce any more. The tomatoes were eaten by birds. There are 4 left that might still ripen but the plant looks pretty week. Even the strawberry plant lost a third of its leaves.
Too bad. All of that work hauling water and putting up shade and then they die. Doesn't seem worth it. Of course I will try again next year.
