One Day at a Time

The weekend is here!  Someday the weekend will just be more free days but not yet.  My mother is off to a San Diagan holiday for a week so I am baby-sitting her car.  I'm so used to my truck, it is hard to get used to a car.  My truck's window is fixed and I am happy.  This incident made me think about the inevitable day that I will have to replace it.  I looked up the Blue Book value.  It's only worth $2,600.  I'll have to spend a lot more than that on a new-to-me vehicle.  I hope my truck lasts for many more years because I don't really want to spend a lot of money.

This weekend I will be trying, once again, to spend as little as possible.  I need a few things at the grocery store and I MUST stick to the list this time.  I have been really good about not eating junk food for the past two weeks so I should stay far away from the junk food aisles.  I need chicken, yogurt, fruits and vegetables.  That is all.

I've worked on my taxes for the past 2 weekends (only an hour at a time) and I think I can finish them this weekend.  Then I wait a week or two before reviewing them and sending them in just in case I forgot anything.  Tomorrow I'm going to visit my Dad in the nursing home since my Mom is away.  I bought him a stainless steel wedding ring to replace the silver band that was lost.  It will be interesting to see if he wants to wear it and if he does, if it will disappear in a few weeks.  I'm also going to bring him chocolate pudding.  Guess which one he'll like more?  I think the pudding.  I don't know what the food is like there but it is probably boring and chocolate is his favorite food.

I've already done a load of laundry, pulled weeds in the backyard and swiffered the floor.  I'm ahead on my chores so that means I can sleep in if the dogs let me or take a mid-morning nap.  The dogs are always game for a nap.

Yaay, weekend, my favourite. I suspect chocolate pudding too. Bless.
Enjoy your break.

Well, neither was a hit because I gave him half of a cookie first. The cookie got all the attention.
