Can't Stop Remodeling In My Head

All the way to work this morning I was trying to add up all the things that needed to be done to make one of those houses from yesterday livable. By the time I got to work I had decided that I didn't want to undertake a major remodel. It was hard enough getting the rental house in to shape last Spring. I just don't have the time for it. I looked online for higher priced homes to see if I could find one already remodeled. I did find 2 homes that have been on the market for months and both have been reduced more than once. They both are listed for $106k. Maybe if I offer $95k one of them will jump at it.

If not, I have my whole second choice area to look at. There are 88 homes in my price range of under $90k. That's a lot of homes to wade through. My main concern is crime. One of my coworkers lives in the area and he says it depends on which street you live on. One street is good and two streets over can be really scary. There are some excellent deals in the midst of it all though. One home I saw was listed for $57k. It was only 3 bedrooms and one bath but the yard was nice. I think I really want 2 bathrooms though. I do plan to have visitors some day and I haven't had to share a bathroom since college.
