Saturday Plans

For once I am not working at my mobile home on a Saturday.  Since I have the water pump hooked up for the sink and toilet, there are no more super urgent chores to do.  Everything else is on the 'will make my life easier' list but it isn't urgent.  Instead, I must go to my mother's house to get her mail, check the food in the fridge, and hook up her two trees to the drip system.  I also plan to go adopt my foster dog so that I can take her to my own vet.  I am less than thrilled with the care she has received at the pound.  They just want to amputate her leg and get her adopted without taking in to consideration her other injured leg which will leave her with only two good legs.  I want another opinion.  Lastly, I am taking back a bag of plumbing fittings.  I'm not finished with the plumbing project but I know I won't use that type of fitting.

So, that is my exciting Saturday.  I hope there will also be time for a nap and some Netflix.  I don't plan on spending more than gas money and $15 for the dog's license.  My credit card needs a break.

i think you should take care of your mom. your job may work with you on a schedule where you can work from home, and also caretake.

Do you know when mum can get back yet? Must be so hard when she is so far away and on her own.

No pressure, of course, but Mum probably wants to be nearer her Daizy and home. Can y'all transition her to a rehab situation near you?

george, I would do that but Mom has to get to a point where she is willing to accept help. I'm sure she expects to recover and get back to her independent lifestyle. I hope that happens but we will try to adapt if it isn't possible.

Lizzie, we are hoping she is cleared to fly in a week, best case, and in two weeks, worst case.

philo, Mom does want to come back to Arizona but my sister is hoping she can convince her to do the rest of her rehab near her house in Washington so that my sister can visit everyday and bring the grandkids. She also hopes to go to doctors appointments with her to make sure she is getting proper care. I hope mother would enjoy being near the grandkids for a while but we will see.
