Mortgage Update for February 2014

How quickly did I forget about my vanilla extract project?  Very quickly.  Out of sight, out of mind.  I think I should take a picture of the bottles, print it, write "SHAKE ME" on it and put it on the fridge.  And I also need a picture of my sweet potatoes that are on the windowsill because I forget about them behind the curtain and they almost ran out of water last week.

Now for my mortgage update.  I paid an extra $1,200 towards the principle today which brings the total down to $63,233.  It will take me 3 more months to get down to the 50's.  I'm excited about that.  If I keep up this pace, I will have my mortgage paid off in 3 years and 8 months.  That is still too long to me but I'm not willing to get a second job or give up my hobbies so I have to accept it.

I was planning to go out to my property to get more stuff to sell or get a load of gravel for the backyard but there is a 90% chance that it will rain on Saturday.  This would not matter to many people but it rarely rains so I think I will stay home and enjoy the rain.  While I am doing that I should probably work on my taxes too.  I hate doing taxes but if I break it up in to small segments of work then I should get through it.  And, I am guardian of my nephew now so I might actually get a refund.  That should be an incentive to get them done.

Are you going to stay home and do your Gene Kelly impression and sing in the rain? There is something we'd like to see!

Wow, you are doing well on the mortgage. Less than 4 years to go, quite a pace there.

I'm not sure I could find an umbrella or a lamp post around here to dance with but I could try! The chance of rain is decreasing. Now only 50%. By the time Saturday gets here, all the rain will be gone.

Keep up the great work. Only one more mortgage payment for me! It takes time, but it's worth it.

That's fantastic, Landlord! What is your next goal after the mortgage? There are so many possibilities!
