Crossed 1,000 Things Off My To-Do List

I was so excited to get this day started.  I was up at 5am, got ready, picked up a jumbo lemonade slurpee for hydration, stopped for a dozen donuts, and headed out to my property.  The demolition crew was already there getting the 2 old cars ready to move.  I finished moving the brick pile and then threw a few more things in to the trash pile.  I asked how much extra it would cost to haul my trash pile to the dump and he said no cost so I was pretty happy.

The old cars are out.

Beginning of the end.

It doesn't want to fall down.

It was no match for the Bobcat.
One last wall.

Final clean-up.

All neat and tidy!
I was thrilled with the job that Ideal Building Solutions did.  If you live in Tucson, I highly recommend them.  They were prompt, polite, helpful and fast!  And they even swept the concrete slab!  The whole thing was over by 3:30 including moving the RV from its closed-in spot.  They backed the RV up with the Bobcat tractor and maneuvered it down to the slab where it is parked temporarily until they can get a hitch for it.  I loved that all of the problems that had been keeping me from making decisions were now their problems and they found a solution for all of them!  Man-power and Bobcat power eliminated 1,000 of problems/projects for me in less than 9 hours.  I haven't made that much progress out there in years.  I can finally stop thinking about towing my vehicles or propping up the garage or fixing the RV.  Now I can work on the rest of my projects like getting rid of my extra stuff, getting new cabinets for my kitchen and fixing up the master bath.  I still have more projects than I can ever finish but at least I am a little more focused now.

WOW! I'm so happy for you, Daizy! I once had a massive pile of old demolition/construction material in my side yard -- it occupied so much of my time and energy, and every other project revolved around it. For 7 years! It became a family joke.

I finally just had it all hauled away and it made the WORLD of difference -- I felt 1000 lbs. lighter! I know just how you feel - whew!

Here's to freeing up so much of your time and energy -- you'll be able to direct them to other things now!

Ugh, Lee, piles of "trash" are the worst. Especially when some of it is still good and it feels so wasteful to throw it out but it feels great now that it is gone in real life and from my brain.

Slurpee and donuts. Isn't that what everybody eats on demolition day, Lizzie? :)
