A Trip Around The Yard

Every morning I go out to water the garden and I look at all of the things that need my attention in the yard. Of course, I can't do anything about them because I have to scurry off to work, but I put all the things on my never-ending to-do list.

Today, when I came home from work, I went out to water the garden and I noticed something different. Something was making a shadow where there wasn't a shadow before. My neighbor's have built a very large garage next to their wall. This thing must be 25ft long and 3 feet higher than the fence. This just happens to be blocking the one place in my yard where I could see a glimpse of the city lights at night and admire the sunset in the Summer. My wall is shorter there on purpose. Well, no need for a shorter wall anymore. I have a new chore on my to-do list: Add a row of blocks to the wall. The less I see of their garage, the better. I'm the one who wanted to buy a house without a home owner's association so I can't really complain. Higher walls, more trees. Forget the view. I'll make my own backyard oasis. I have a new mission to hide that garage.

Also in my yard, I found a giant horm worm munching on my desert willow tree. I let him live because he won't be munching for long. He looks ready to make a cocoon.

The weeds in the backyard are completely out of hand. I need to get my electric weed-eater from the shed on my property so that I can fight back.  Can you spot my little dog?
I'm not planning to go out to my property for another few weeks. I want the temperature to be in the mid-80's at least. The 10 day forecast still has 90's all week.  Well, I have plenty of other things to do while I wait for the weather to cooperate.
