Pre-Weekend Chores

I finally downloaded the pictures off of my camera. This is the first thing that I cooked on my stove last weekend. It's a breakfast burrito with eggs, cheese and tater crowns (as opposed to tater tots). Later on I made chicken fried rice.

It is one of those electric stoves with the flat cook top and I'm always trying to center the pan on that little glowing circle. Then the rice boiled over a little bit but it was easy to clean.

Tonight I tried to put things in their proper place and clean off the countertops. I have so few cabinets that there really isn't space for everything. The small pantry has deep shelves so things get lost in the back and the bottom section is awkwardly large. I can't imagine what super tall food I would store there.

Right now the dog's stuff is in the kitchen but that will be moving to my bedroom next week before my parents arrive. I put up the spice rack that my niece gave me. I think it looks pretty good there. My dish towels were hanging down so I tied them in knots. I have no idea what that small shelf is for. I plan to take it down and put it somewhere more useful. I think my bathroom would be a good place for it.

The gentleman who was going to bring his dog over to meet my dog decided that he would come by tomorrow morning and pick up my dog and start his trial week with her. I really hope it works out. I had my old toilet in the front yard and I decided that it would be embarrassing to have people over to the house with it out there so I took a hammer and broke it up and hauled the pieces to the trash can. I bet the neighbors are glad it is gone. I put some fake flowers on it to camouflage it but it really didn't help.

I was hoping to take a nap in the morning tomorrow and just hang out with the dogs but now I am going to pick up a mattress, meet the guy for my dog, and drop my other dog at an adoption event. I guess I will nap on the plane. That's not as fun as napping with the dogs though. They are professional nappers.

So much space!

I love the idea of a toilet full of fake flowers in the garden. Bet the neighbours are wondering whomoved in

I thought it was quite decorative but since I didn't want to continue on with that whimsical theme, the toilet had to go.

Any improvement in this old house of mine is huge. I love the color of the formica countertops. Taking a cue from that long scratch on the original ones, I’m extremely careful not to do anything to damage them, but they are pretty durable.
