Watch Out Snake

One of my puppies got adopted today! Yay! The week trial period begins. I sure hope they keep him. Only one puppy left. My other dog that was bitten by the snake is still at my friend's house. I went to visit her today and delivered some food. She looks a little better. She was standing up and the swelling is starting to drain to her neck. I am going to pick her up on Tuesday and then I hope she will be well enough to go back in with all my dogs.

I went to Home Depot today and bought quikcrete. That stuff is heavy. It was hot today too, in the low 90's. I was so tired by the time I got home. I hope it is cooler tomorrow otherwise I don't see myself getting much outdoor work done.

After Home Depot I stopped at Do-It-Yourself Pest Control. I had never been in there before. It was great. I bought a bunch of glue traps. The clerk said that if I catch a live snake I can relocate it and then pour cooking oil over it and the snake will become unstuck. That's great...but if I catch a live snake I will be calling my snake relocation guy that I have on speed dial! They also had granules to spread around the perimeter to deter snakes. They smell like mothballs which snakes hate. Of course dogs aren't fond of the smell either. I also bought this 6 ft. long snake grabber so that I can grab a snake from a safe distance next time I see one. If I had had that thing when my first dog was bitten I wouldn't be having this problems right now (assuming it is the same snake). I could have grabbed it and sent it away.

6ft is not long enough for the snake grabber. Scarily close still. AArrgh

"Snake relocation guy" I love that description and I hope you find the snake.

Lizzie, at least it is longer than a shovel and has a pincher at the end. He's not getting away next time. Now I know a snake out of site is scarier that a snake in site!

Dave, I sure wish I had a reason to call the snake relocation guy but so far, no luck.
