One Less Dog And A Bigger Paycheck

Someone saw my dog on Petfinder and drove all the way from Flagstaff to meet her today. That's over 4 hours away. She arrived at lunch time and ended up adopting her. It's about time that dog found a home. All of her puppies got adopted long ago.

My boss decided that my office was too empty without a dog in the afternoon so he told me I should bring one in tomorrow. I said I was planning on it but I have to drop her off at the vet so I would need to bring in 2 dogs so that one would be there all day. He thought that was a fine idea so now I am bringing two dogs in to work tomorrow. Crazy!

It has actually been a good week at work. I'm kind of waiting for something bad to happen. I think I should just try to enjoy the good mood that everyone seems to be in for now. Perhaps our raises has a lot to do with it. I checked my bank account today and my check was $44 more that last time. That comes out to $95 a month.

I got two more dog food donations today. This is great. I won't have to buy dog food for 2 months now. That's a lot of savings.

Two more days until the weekend. I can make it. Nothing exciting planned, just an adoption event on Sunday afternoon. Saturday is still open, just the way I like it.

Thats excellent. Sounds like she wont be the sort to bring back back a dog after a couple of days
Your boss want office dogs despite what they did to his office yesterday? Impressive!!

So glad Momma Dog found a home. A raise, dogs in the office? All good.

Lizzie, yes, if she drove 4 hours to get her there is a good chance she will keep her unless the dog kills her cat or something. but that dog totally ignored cats so I think it will be ok.

As for the boss's office, there wasn't a stain so maybe he forgot.

KoBold, ya, it's nice that some things are working out. And I that raise was a total surprise.

Livingroom, yes, when I've had a dog for 4 months I start to wonder if they are permanent residents here. I love it when people fall in love with the dog's picture. It usually means they will keep them.

Where we live, you commenly keep your foster dog for around six months before they are adopted. And all the weekly adoption events are an hour and a half away.

Ah Brigette, that just means they need a local person to organise events. Some groups here have events at the feed store or grooming store (and you know about the bookstore). And they have fundraisers at restaurants and even dog washes at Starbucks. I wonder if your local people advertise their dogs and cats on Petfinder. We get a lot of adoptions from there. Community awareness is key. The rescues even get on TV and the radio sometimes.

Most of the people have their friend's dog's puppy's puppy's though, but yeah a fearless leader would defiantly help! Too bad that requires an adult with lots of time and money, I don't know any of those.

Ya Bridgette and communitly involvement to stop the friend's puppy's puppies and an inexpensive vet. And grant writers and fund raiser people would be great too! It is definitely not an easy task.

Looks like she's now at the second chance animal shelter up here going by the name of snooki and looks like she had another litter of pups recently. We looked at her yesterday and are thinking about adopting her. Do you have any information on her from when you had her?

Sue, it couldn't be the same dog. We had her spayed.
