Thunder and Lightning and Water, Finally

Last night the skies looked dark behind the mountian behind my house. In the past, the storms just went around me but last night, around midnight, I finally got a good rain. It must have stormed for 30 minutes. 3 of my dogs don't care about thunder but Toto was scared and curled up next to me.

In the morning, my 300 gallon tank was full and my 500 gallon tank was 2/3 full. Now I just need the weekend to get here so that I that I have time to empty my collection tanks in to my holding tanks and wait for more rain.

So far the erosion on the road isn't too bad. The big wash has some damage. Hopefully the rest of the rain won't be too violent. I don't want to pay for road maintenance this year, but I'll probably have to. I was lucky that it didn't need it last year. The year before was pretty bad. I almost needed a 4-wheel drive to get through. That's all part of living out here in the country. The land is cheap, the water is expensive and the roads are rotten.

Over the Cubicle, do you water your grass or is this natural grass as opposed to manicured lawn grass? Rain is great but it always creates more chores...water transferring in my case and mowing in yours.
