Not Just Yet

Today I happened to overhear the big boss ask my boss if my position was really necessary. Luckily, my boss said yes it was. I was amused at first and then a little freaked out. I mean, I don't want to work here forever but I don't want my job to end just yet. It made me think about my plans and what I want.

I want my job to last at least until the end of the year. Then I want my job to last a little longer so that I can save up some reserve money and make some lifestyle improvements. I was thinking today about getting a construction loan for a 2 car garage with a shop and a large fenced yard. Do you think banks give loans for garages without houses? I could park a camper van inside and make a living area in the shop for when I was not travelling. But then I thought that I don't want a construction loan if my job could end at any time. I mean, everyone takes that risk when they get a loan. I was laid off and had my mortgage to pay. It wasn't that terrible. But I was lucky and got another job fairly quickly. This time I don't want to have to get another job.

I'm not at the point of making that decision yet. Right now I am still working on keeping my job and paying off my mortgage. As long as my renter keeps coming through with the rent I only have 11 months to go.

I don't see why they wouldn't make a loan on one. Why a two car garage vs only one? Storage space?

Anyway, my theory is I'll know what to do when the time comes. I am sure you will too. In the meantime it is fun to think through the possibilities.

I guess I was assuming I would have something else besides a camper van, but maybe I'll just have a scooter. More space for the dogs to run maybe? I agree, I expect to know what I want when the time comes. My plans have already evolved. I don't think I can fit in my shed-house with all of these dogs.

I guess a two car garage gives you room to expand your living space if you have the need/money later. More stuff to plan! :)

Here you could get insurance to cover the loan so that repays for you if you are sick or made redundant. Maybe its possible?
