Charity Begins At My Rental House

Sometimes I feel like I am running a charity, not a rental house. I am too nice to be a landlord. My tenant is behind financially again and asked if she could have until the 23rd to pay the rent. That's when her taxes will be finished and she'll get one of those pay-me-now tax deals where they give you your money in advance for a fee. She's not that great with money but as a single parent with 2 kids I sympathise with her struggle and she does try hard.

It is inconvenient for me to wait because I want to stick to my mortgage payoff schedule. But it isn't a hardship for me. If I don't think about it I won't even stress about it. She has always comes through with the rent and the late fees so I hope she doesn't disappoint me this time. So, I will wait for another 2 1/2 weeks and then, hopefully, I'll make some significant progress with my mortgage plan.

She still sounds infinitely better than the previous tenants. Any future plans with short term rentals again?

Yes, she is much better. No short term rentals. It's too much work with the emails, contracts, house cleaning and staging, etc...and there is too much vacant time.

Lizzie, she did says she was going to move in February and now she says she has changed her mind. I just hope she keeps paying the rent.
